Summary:During this the handling of municipal solid waste in developing countries such as Indonesia just hoard and directly burn trash in the open air at the landfill. But only recycle certain types of plastics certain such as PP, PET and HDPE which has been utilized. Where there are many alternatives recycle process and a more promising future prospects. One is the conversion of plastic waste into petrol and diesel oil equivalent one with pyrolysis method. The purpose of this study was to compare the fraction (solid, liquid and gas), liquid product properties, the influence of pyrolysis temperature on the performance of the motor base diesel with biodiesel fuel mix-WPO (5, 10, 15 and 20%) and a ideal blending WPO for each test temperature and emissions generated. The reactor used is a batch type with a temperature variation of 400, 450 and 500 °C with a nitrogen flow rate of 0.8 l / min. Raw materials used plastic waste LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene). Liquid product sample testing is done at the Lab of Oil, Gas and Coal Chemical Engineering UGM, Laboratory of Nutrition and Food PAU UGM and Lab Organic Chemistry MIPA. Mixture of waste plastics pyrolysis oil and biodiesel tested on diesel engine Test Bed Nissan Diesel SD22 Series without modification. The results showed that the optimum temperature to produce the highest liquid temperature is 450 ° C in amount of 56.59% of the mass of raw material 2300 g, 500 °C in amount of 51.65% and 400 oC in amount of 24.64%. Characteristics of pyrolysis oils such as specific gravity, flash point, pour point, water content, kinematic viscosity and ash content and percentage content of C12-C20 showed that the pyrolysis oil can be developed as an alternative fuel. Berdasarkan waktu dan energi yang dibutuhkan untuk proses pirolisis terhadap kinerja mesin diesel dengan bahan bakar 5, 10, 15 dan 20% yang terbaik adalah suhu WPO WPO 500 oC. WPO best mixture on diesel engine performance for each temperature pyrolysis based SFC and BTE is a mix of 15% for WPO temperature 400 oC , mixture of 10% for WPO a temperature of 450 °C and a mixture of 20% for a WPO temperature 500 °C and emissions generated for all samples test still normal with a standard diesel engine combustion conditions.
