| description | Background: Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) has a
role in angiogenesis process which affects the development of
liver cirrhosis. Some researches about polymorphisms of VEGF
gene have been conducted in patient with hepatocellular
carcinoma, the results revealed that those polymorphisms have
different proportion and some of them had affected patients�
survival rate. Research about polymorphisms of VEGF gene based
on score Model for End Stage Liver Disease on patient with
liver cirrhosis had not yet been conducted.
Objective: To discover difference in the proportion of I/D
VEGF Gene -2549 polymorphisms in patient with liver cirrhosis
based on MELD score.
This study uses c Method: ross sectional method. Total of
subject is 38 patient, sample of venous blood would taken from
each subject in order to follow chemical blood examination to
establish MELD score, and also to complete biomolecular
examination (I/D VEGF -2549). Data will presented in the form
of frequency(%). Normality test used in this research is
Shapiro-Wilk. Distribution of data is abnormal so then
proportion test using non parametric test Kolmogorov-Smirnov.
: Result Among total 7 patients with MELD score �20 highest
proportion reached by Deletion (DD) -2549 counting 5 patients
(72%), then ID 1 patient (14%), followed by II 1 patient
(14%), and from 32 patients with MELD score <20 highest
proportion gained by Deletion (DD) -2549 counting 17 patients
(55%), ID 10 patients (32%), and II 4 patients (13%).Result of
Kolmogorov Smirnov test showed significancy valueas 1,000,
because of p>0,05, so that the result is not significant.
: Conclusion There is no difference in the proportion of I/D
VEGF gene-2549 polymorphisms in patient with liver cirrhosis
based on Model for End Stage Liver Disease score. |
