| description | Background: Ischemic stroke is one type of stroke that
more common than hemorrhagic stroke in community and
is often associated with cognitive impairment.
Appropriate treatment is important to prevent
cognitive impairment after stroke.
Object: To identify correlation between giving aspirin
in patients with ischemic stroke with cognitive
impairment at RSUP Dr. Sardjito.
Methods: This research used a case control study
design. Sample obtained from medical record of
patients enrolled in Stroke Unit of RSUP Dr. Sardjito
by consecutive sampling method.
Result: From 115 ischemic stroke patients who giving
anti-platelet (Aspirin, other anti-platelet, or mix)
with cognitive function outcome variabel criteria, the
result of correlation analysis using chi-square test
is a p-value 0.970. It shows that there is no
significant correlation between aspirin or another
anti-platelet with cognitive fuction outcome.
Conclucsion: There is no significant correlation
between aspirin or another anti-platelet and cognitive
function outcome in ischemic stroke patients at RSUP
Dr. Sardjito. |
