Summary: | The establishment of a special security around the Grand Mosque and the
addition of security personnel in every sector of pilgrims boarding is clearly
substantiation that the Indonesian government undertake serious efforts to
improve the organization of the hajj, especially in the field of security, which is
still in the spotlight several parties including DPR in giving his views on the
activities of the largest annual Muslims. However, officials still overwhelmed in
handling of the lost that can reach hundreds of people every day.
This research overcome the problem of handling the lost/missing pilgrims
by developing an information system that involves sms gateway application as a
technology that is inexpensive, easy to use, and fast to distribute information.
Development of information systems begins with the design of the system
architecture, creation of Use Case Diagrams, Class Diagrams, and Sequence
Diagrams, and also the design of the database, the interface, and the format of sms
request.
Two kinds of tests performed on the system. Functional test is useful to
determine the suitability of the design process with the results of the
implementation. While the broadcast test was conducted to determine weaknesses
sms gateway server system. From the test results obtained that the time required
by the system to send mass information in the service is for almost two minutes,
which means that the system is not strong enough to serve hundreds of thousands
of pilgrims. This is because the sms gateway engine used is Gammu. So the real
application in the field needed a better engine for maximum service.
