Summary: | Background : The morbidity and mortality due to Dengue
Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still included in the high
category, besides that in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta
(DIY) the larvae-free rate is still below 95% (86.62%).
Mosquitoes that be the vector of dengue fever are
Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. The condition of
vegetation around the house is a supporting factor
for proliferation of vector borne diseases.
Objective of the Research : To understand the effect of
the vegetation factors (amount, height, density, and
width) around the house to dengue vector mosquito
density.
Materials and Methods : Type of research is an
observational study with cross-sectional design. The
study was conducted in the Bausasran and Pringgokusuman
with 57 samples in Bausasran and 61 samples in
Pringgokusuman. Inspection of dengue vector mosquito
density is done inside the house by using a Backpack
Aspirator. Whereas inspection of the number, height,
density and width of vegetation performed by
observational method.
Result: In Bausasran, comparative test results for the
amount of vegetation (p = 0.356), height of vegetation
(p = 0.119), and width of vegetation (p = 0.501). In
Pringgokusuman, comparative test results for the amount
of vegetation (p = 0.640), vegetation height (p =
0.300), and width vegetation (p = 0.549).
Conclusion : Statisticaly, there is no significant
differences of dengue vector mosquito density between
vegetation factors (amount, height, density, and
width).
