Description
Summary:Background : Acute glomerulonephritis (AGN) is the most frequent cause of hypertension among children. Hypertension in AGN is caused by sodium and water retention. Sodium is an important cation in regulation of blood pressure balance by its involvement in water balance and peripheral resistance regulation. Objective : To know the association between sodium plasma level and the degree of hypertension among children with AGN. Method: This research is observational analytic study with cross-sectional design. This study involving 43 pediatric patients. Data was taken from medical record of RSUP Dr. Sardjito from 2011 until 2013. Result: Sodium level have a very weak and not significant correlation with systolic BP (r=0,114
