| Summary: | Diverse collection of literature in a digital library and a number of digital
libraries as a library information retrieval has its necessary means to search library
data more quickly and integrated in accordance with the wishes of the user.
Application of semantic web for collaborative digital library, is expected to
answer those needs. Existing search using mach word search properties , based on
keywords in the title or the author of literature. This led to the emergence of
literature that only relevant information based on the title or author, but if not
found then searched library users must switch to other digital libraries. So it takes
longer for the next search.
Semantic web application for data retrieval digital libraries have multiple
stages to obtain information through the search results in accordance with the
wishes of the user. Ontologi is a new idea in knowledge representation techniques
far more expressive than conventional knowledge representation techniques. In
addition it also has advantages in Ontologi-based Semantic query than traditional
techniques based syntactic query.
Through this research tested with several tools that can be used to design
ontologi based on RDF / OWL. On testing the system in a way macth all and
macth any keyword in the query as well as through the web page is able to
produce a library of information with one or several stages of the search. The
results of this study is an ontologi -based web portal that can be the basis of data
representation of collaborative digital library concept. This means that the
application of semantic web is able to improve the accuracy of search, especially
in the case of the acquisition of information about the data that the user wants
digital library.
