| description | Motorcycle is the most preferred mode in developing countries, including
in Indonesia. The high number of motorcycle usage is equal with the high fatality
accidents because the lack of safety protection used. This study aims to know and
analyze driving behaviour, using of safety equipment and the level of
understanding of the risk of accident.
The data was collected used observation to initial data collection, a
questionnaire consisting of the scale of understanding the risk of accidents, the
scale of the use of safety equipment and driving behavior scale. As well as using
the interviews to supplement the existing questionnaire results. Data were
analyzed using regression analysis to determine the effect of understanding the
risk of accidents to the use of safety equipment and the effect of understanding the
risk of accidents to driving behavior.
The results showed that 55 % users have a low understanding of the risk
of accidents and 55 % users have good the awareness of using safety equipment
and 53 % users showed that the driving behavior still did not took into account
the risk of accidents. Understanding the risk of accidents by 4.6 % effect on the
use of safety equipment and 2.5 % on the driving behavior Using of safety
equipment was more dominant influenced by subjective norms and Controling to
obidient the obligations and is not a requirement . From the results of this study
are expected to be arrange the programs includes engineering , education and
enforcement to improve understanding of the risk of accidents and bring it up as a
good driving behavior related to the use of safety equipment. |
