study is to identify what were the affacting factors of underdevelopment area in
Lombok Island.
This study applied qualitative approachment and deductive research
design. This research was held at four districs in Lombok Island that cosidered as
underdevelopment area (KPDT, 2005), those are West Lombok, Central Lombok,
East Lombok, and North Lombok. The researcher collected and analyzed the data
by interviewing the respondent as an expert then crosschecking it with secondary
data and field observation.
The research result showed that the disparity was occured in Lombok
Island development based on the analysis of Williamson and Theil Index and
placed four districs in Lombok Island as the underdevelopment areas based on
Klassen Tipology (2010). Furthermore, the affecting factors of underdevelopment
area in Lombok Island related to the community and local government for
examples local government leadership, lack of community awareness, lack of buy
power caused by low community economic level, low human recource quality,
unoptimal infrastucture utilization, and limited financial local government. |
