description The Railway Station is a very important part of the infrastructure in the railway system. The passenger experience of using the railway station, through its services, facilities, and access determine the willingness of passengers to use a railway. Therefore, the design of stations must be able to cope with the essential function. Adequate capacity of the station, integrated with other modes, and convenience facilities, have essential roles in assisting the flow of passengers disembarking from a train to go to another destination and vice versa. Therefore, the access and egress part of the station design must be well planned and well prepared. This research study discusses the assessment of the capacity of Sudirman station. Sudirman station is one of the important stations in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is located in the central business district and it has a future function as an interchange facility for three new railway service, the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line, the Kereta Bandara line, and the Monorail line are planned to pass through this station. Network Rail method on guidance for assessing station capacity was considered in parallel with Transit Capacity and Quality of Service Manual (TCRP) as a benchmark of Level of Service in order to measure the comfort of passenger passing through a station. An assessment was conducted which revealed that Sudirman station is not meeting its capacity requirement. Therefore, in order to develop a station design, the author recommends adding two escalators in the northern platform and two escalators in the southern platform
