Summary: | In accordance with its function, central office / factory is the main center
of human activity. Owing to this reason, surrounding area of the central office /
factory should be the center of attraction and generation of traffic flow as well.
The existence of the AMDK AQUA located on the main road of BOCIMI lane
(Bogor � Sukabumi � Ciawi) where one of which is the AMDK AQUA of
Babakan Pari provide a considerable impact on the main road of BOCIMI lane
namely Sukabumi � Ciawi highway segment. Consequences of the complex landuse
condition along Sukabumi � Ciawi highway, the impact also contributes the
cause of congestion on the roads. The aims of this research is determining the
effect of the AMDK AQUA of Babakan Pari activities on the performance of
Sukabumi � Ciawi highway and Cidahu road (factory access roads) as well as to
anticipate the impact of traffic in order to minimize traffic problems in the vicinity
area of the factory.
This research uses a calculation based on an approach of MKJI 1997 to
determine the performance of roads and intersections. The road performances are
the V/C ratio, speed and density. The method of calculation is using a scenario
calculation on existing conditions, recommendation condition, condition of the
plan year and recommendation condition of the plan year. In each of these
scenarios, it can be known the influence of the factory activities on the
performance of the roads and intersections affected.
The result of this research showed that the effect of the AMDK AQUA of
Babakan Pari particularly influence the movements of the vehicles between 4-5%
of the volume of vehicles during peak hours at Cidahu road and Sukabumi �
Ciawi highway. High barriers along the roads and the unavailability of road
infrastructures for vehicles maneuvering in accordance with the specified
minimum radius also contributes the cause of congestion on the roads and
intersections. The effect of this situation could be anticipated by doing traffic
engineering, for instance capacity building roads, intersection management,
provision of road facilities, as well as managing the operating hours of the
vehicles. Performance conditions on the roads and intersections recommendation
scenarios, which are based on the result, could obtain the performance
improvements of roads and intersections performance.
