Summary: | This study aims to: 1) Figuring out the characteristics of trainer
(widyaiswara) in West Nusa Tenggara Province., 2) Apprehending the work
motivation of trainer in West Nusa Tenggara Province, 3) Analyzing the
performance of trainer in West Nusa Tenggara Province, 4) Analyzing the
correlation between the characteristics and the performance of trainer in Nusa
Tenggara Province, 5) Analyzing the correlation between motivation and the
performance of trainer in West Nusa Tenggara Province.
This study employed descriptive mixed methods approach. This strategy
used data collection and quantitative data analysis in the first phase and used
qualitative data collection and analysis in the second phase, respectively. The
study was conducted by census to 57 gorvermental agency trainers in West Nusa
Tenggara. Proportion Test was used to compare the mean of two trainer groups,
and chi-square test was used to see the correlation between characteristics and
performance as well as the performance motivation.
The research finding showed that the motivation of trainers in West Nusa
Tenggara was satisfactorily high. The determination of the number of credit used
to analyze the performance showed the low level of trainers� performance in West
Nusa Tenggara Province. The performance of career-trainer exceeds the
performance of the non career-ones. There was no correlation between age,
education, gender, the length of position, as well as motivation to the performance
of trainers. The competence of trainers was the foundation of their performance
