Academic Process to the graduates� competency.
This research aims are: (1) to study the quality assurance in academic
process, (2) to picture the graduates� competency, and (3) to analyze the impact of
the quality assurance on academic process to the graduates� competency in regular
class, Bachelor Program at Faculty of Medicines UGM.
This research used the descriptive methods with quantitative approach and
supported by literature study using conventional method of questionnaire as well
as the online method questionnaire with five scales (Likert). The population of
this research is the students of intake 2009 on regular class of Bachelor in Faculty
of Medicines, Universitas Gadjah Mada, while the sample is the 101 alumni of
2009.
Based on WMS calculation, the average score of quality assurance
variables on the academic process is 3.72, which is on the �good� category. While
the score of graduates� competency variable is 4.15 which included in the �very
good� category. Both variables have positive correlation with quite strong
significance. This can be seen from the analysis of coefficient correlation of
variables of quality assurance on the academic process to the graduates�
competency with the score 0.46. This score is classified as quite strong and
significant, with the determination coefficient 21.3% and the result of regression
analysis is Y = 26,81 + 0,46X.
The summary of this research shows that there is a significant impact of
quality assurance on academic process to the competency of intake 2009
graduates of Bachelor program in Medicines, Faculty of Medicines, Universitas
Gadjah Mada.
Based on the result of the research, the recommendation given are: (1) the
transparency of OSCE test grading from skills lab management board, the use of
e-learning media in teaching process, the discipline of teaching staff and the
willingness of teaching staff to assist students outside the class hours, need to be
improved, (2) more training is needed with cases/scenarios in skills lab to prepare
students for the co-ass process, and (3) continuous improvement is needed in
order to achieve the excellent service quality, and the discipline and motivation to
strive to be the best is also needs to be implemented to all the stakeholders. |
