This is done through a deconstructive analysis of the relationships that develop within the lyrics of Ummi Kulṡūm. The theroy used in this study is postcolonial theory and the theory of nationalism within the framework of literary discourse. The results of the study revealed that Arab nationalism of Egypt experienced three stages of development with the emergence of nationalist leaders. The first stage is growth of nationalism with the character Saʻad Zaglūl Psy, the second stage is resistance with the character Jaml Abdun-Nsir, and the third stage is transition stage with the character of the young generation. The nationalism is understood as a concept has been well established by the lyrics of the song deconstructed and questioned again. In a literary idea, Ummi Kulṡūm through lyrics mobilize nationalist ideas by choosing the synthesis between the two expressions used nationalism as a culture colonized equally ambivalent, namely rhetorical tradition is a tendency to see the past, religions, and traditions, as well as the rhetoric of development namely the tendency to see into the future
