description The mechanical properties of tooth restorative materials depend on oral acidity. The aim of this research was to examine the shear bond strength of conventional GIC and RMGIC on dentin as a result of immersion in saliva of pH 7 and 5 . This study was conducted on 28 samples of caries-free extracted maxillary premolars. Buccal surface of each tooth was cut to reach the opened and flattened dentin with diameter of at least 3mm. Buccal surface of each tooth was cut and flattened until the dentin with diameter of at least 3 mm was exposed. all samples were embedded in acrylic resin block and GIC filled the cavity with diameter of 3 mm and 2 mm in height. All samples were divided randomly into 4 groups, namely group I as conventional GIC group in saliva of pH 7 immersion, group II as RMGIC group in saliva of pH 7 immersion, group III as conventional GIC group in saliva of pH 5 immersion, the group IV as a group RMGIC in saliva of pH 5 immersion. All samples were immersed in artificial saliva for 7 days. The shear bond strength was measured by using Universal Testing Machine with a shear load speed of 0.5 mm / minute . The mean of shear bond strength of group I,II,III,IV were 2,65±0,85 MPa
