Summary: | This paper studied the terms of address as seen in the film ���� (Champ),
���� ��� (My English Teacher), and �주먹� ��� (Crying Fist). It
discussed the types and elements that influenced the choosing factors of address in
Korean language. The method used in this paper is pragmatic equivalent method
and translational equivalent method. Equivalent pragmatic method was applied to
analyze the address system used by the speaker, while translational equivalent
method was employed to describe the object research of Korean language to
Indonesian language as a method of analysis.
The study result suggested that terms of address in Korean language has
many variations including personal name, relation, last name-title, title-nim and
pronoun. In addition, this paper also found several factors affecting the types of
address form including age, gender, situation, relation between the speaker and
hearer, and social status.
