description The issue of inequality in Indonesia is still clearly visible despite the economic growth in the range of the year 2001-2010 continues to increase. Inequality is shown by the large contribution of GDP on the island of Java, which amounted to 57.5%, followed by 23.9% of the island of Sumatra and the rest is in the eastern Indonesian region which is equal to 18.60%. The imbalance is due to the differences in the quantity and quality of available resources. In addition to the alleged existence of a relationship between the rate of economic growth with economic inequality in Indonesia. In that sense, the higher the rate of economic growth, economic inequality will be higher as well. To prove this, then conducted research with the aim of identifying whether or not the relationship between economic growth and economic inequality. This study uses the unit of analysis to form the corridor area and province. The data used the GDP and the population of the 33 provinces in Indonesia. The analysis technique used to achieve the objectives in this study using the technique of calculating the economic growth rate analysis is then performed to classify the typology Klassen to see the pattern of economic growth. Furthermore Theil entropy index calculation to determine the dynamics of inequality. Then to determine whether or not the relationship is the Pearson correlation test and create typologies areas that will be used in formulating policy strategies From the results of the study found that the average number of Indonesia's economic growth rate reached 5.30 % , while the figure reached 2.1 imbalance . In addition it was also found that of the six economic corridors in Indonesia corridor only one who has the relationship between economic growth and economic inequality that corridor Sulawesi and North Maluku . In addition to the scope of the Province found 19 Province which has the relationship between economic growth and economic inequality, namely North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau Islands, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, West Java, Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Bali, Maluku and West Papua. Then for the results typology region. From the results it was found that the area typology of economic corridors in Indonesia are the dominant type IV which has an economic growth rate below the national average and have the inequality which is above the national average , while the scope of the dominant province was the type I which has a rate of economic growth above the national average and have the inequality under the average number of national inequality.
