Description
Summary:Mass movement mapping in Plosorejo and Gempolan village, sub-distric of Kerjo, Karanganyar, Central Java because these area is known frequent of mass movement. The mapping method used direct mapping method, which is mapping the mass movement by observation in the field, with determination criteria of mass movement susceptibility based on realcondition in the field. From the results of direct observation in the field, it is known that the occurance of mass movement in the study area has several dominant control factors such as the degree of slope, the influence of geological condition, soil thickness, also bad condition of land use development and the trigger factor is rainfall intensity was high. The results of mass movement susceptibility mapping in the study area is Mass Movement Susceptibility Map in which there are 4 zone of mass movement susceptibility, those are low of mass movement susceptibility, medium of mass movement susceptibility, high of mass movement susceptibility, and very high of mass movement susceptibility. From the research, it is known that the high and very high zones of mass movement susceptibility had most of the mass movements occurances, so the development area recommendation only for temporary area such as rice fields, forests, and gardens. To low and medium zones of mass movement susceptibility can be recommended for permanent area such as residential areas, placesof worship, and schools.
