description | The fundamental problem in the development of SMS Gateway system is
to make sure the modem will be able work continuously on sending or receiving
messages. One of the methods that can be done to prevent errors on the modem
device is to perform scheduling. The methood is intended to allow the modem to
be rotated by a certain time interval. The applications side round robin algorithm
and prefix numbers are implemented to determine the optimal message sending
time. Optimization can be evaluated from the fast sending time and minimal cost.
In this research of time-based scheduling on multiple port modem has been
conducted. Round robin algorithm and prefix numbers implemented to determine
the best time for message delivery process. Number prefix based message delivery
identification can reduce the cost as SMS promotion can only be done for the
same operator. The parameters used are the average time based from experiments
performed.
The experiments is done by broadcasting a message to 30 destination
numbers at the same time, experiments is done one time for each scenario. The
results obtained from experiments is the average time required to transmit
messages in seconds. The experiments were performed in three scenarios that
have been determined to obtain a minimum time.
From the test results, the time required to transmit messages from a
specified scenario was compared. The result is experiments using round robin
algorithm method is better than the other experiments performed. Round robin
algorithm can be implemented to reduce the delivery time of message
broadcasting. To reduce the costs can be achieved by the method prefix numbers.
