Summary: | Mount Merapi which erupted on October 26th, 2010 and reached the top of
biggest eruption on November 5th, 2010 it was causing fatal damage and largely
effect on four regions. Like on Umbulharjo Village which located ±4km from top
of Merapi, this place also impacted by wedhus gembel. It clearly showed by the
observation of vegetation structure and composition in the region. The aims of
this research were give some information about the destruction impact of Merapi
eruption through the appearance condition of the structure and composition of tree
species that composing the agroforestry of tegalan from the nearest areas to the
furthest areas from peak of Merapi in each region, where placed in Umbulharjo
village.
This research had been held using field-land on Umbulharjo Village. In
this research, divided sample location into 5 Zones. The measurenment plot was
made on each zone with varies in amount on each zone. The zone amount of
measurements plot area depends on each zone. The variable were the tree species
with total height, diameter, Clear Boles Height, widest canopy height, and species
coordinate whitin plots 20 m x 20 m.
The result showed that changes in the structure and composition of the
field-land from Zone 1 to Zone 3 were changing. Composition of tree species in
Zone 1 and 2 are dominated by sengon and lamtoro that can grow in degradated
area. In Zone 3, 4 and 5, those area were dominated by commercial tree species.
The eruption impact of Merapi is still visible in Zones 1 and 2. Started from Zone
3, the eruption of Merapi based on the structure and composition of the field-land
was no longer visible, based on the level of tree's life from seedling to trees. At
Zone 4 and 5, the structure and composition of agroforestry tegalan was more
stable and clear like never been impacted by Mount Merapi eruption before.
