| Summary: | The effort to improve the products of teak wood by Perhutani, provided
high quality seeds that produces Jati Plus Perhutani (JPP). In order to provide the
necessary reference growth of JPP, it need be researched about the level
competition of JPP. The purpose of this research is to determine the competition
level of JPP in the range between 6 to 11 years at KPH Madiun.
The competition zone was determined based on 480 samples. The
parameters of competition zone were the average crown projection with four
cardinal directions and height of the widest crown. Competition zone was used as
reference for competition index. Competition index calculated using Hegyi�s
method in individual trees. The parameters of competition index were distance
between individual trees, diameter, and height of trees.
The competition zone in 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 years was accounted
respectively 70.6° ,73.7° ,75.1° ,75.8° ,76.1° and 76.2o . The average range of the
competition index in 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 years was accounted respectively 0,148
