Summary: | Diversity, Distribution, and Role of the Order Lepidoptera Species on Jomblang Cave Forrest in Karst Ecosystem Gunungsewu, Gunungkidul was studied from June until November 2013. The aims of research were seeing diversity, distribution, and role of Lepidoptera on Jomblang cave forrest in Karst Ecosystem. The study was sited in Semanu with 80 asl. in height. And it is a part of Gunungsewu Karst Region. The Study area about 8.000 m². There were selected from Jomblang cave forrest area, local harvest area, and Jomblang Resort area. Collection was done by hand and sweep net for picking the Order Lepidoptera Species and use light trap method. Fourthyone species are belong to Order Lepidoptera was indentified. There were thirdteen family, Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, Pieridae, Hesperiidae, Lycaenidae, Noctuidae, Crambiidae, Gracilariidae, Pyralidae, Sphingidae, Saturniidae, Geometridae, and Zygaenidae. There family has 8, 5, 4, 1, 1, 6, 3, 1, 5, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1 species member. Twenty four species was founded in local harvest area, and Jomblang Resort area. The results shown that about 85% was pollinator insect and 15% potential pest insect.
