Summary:Background. The medical faculty has an essential role to the outcomes of the graduates. The graduates demanded to comprehend the Indonesian medical standard of competency (SKDI) due to the readiness to do their medical practice . Objective. The aims of this research are to assess the perception of readiness of PSPD UNISMA graduates through questionnaire and to comprehend the perception of the graduates due to the readiness to do their medical practice. Method. This research was conducted using mixed method, the sequential explanatory design type. As many as 14 graduates of PSPD UNISMA which had passed the Indonesian competency examination participated as sample. Result. Descriptive analysis showed that 79% of graduates perceived to be ready to do their medical practice. Qualitative findings showed most of graduates feel ready to do their medical practice. Many of them feel not ready because they worry about the side effect of medicine and giving the dosage of medicine properly to the children patient. All graduates feel not ready in treating the diseases, the emergency cases and the clinical skills as a result of their lack of the clinical experiences. Conclusion. Most of the graduates feel ready to do their medical practice. However, they feel lack of clinical experiences if compared with the abilities stated in the national standards of medical curriculum.
