Summary: | Fasiolosis is a parasitic disease caused by trematoda Fasciola hepatica and
Fasciola gigantica. Worms infestation in cattles are especially caused by
Fasciola sp. and results in great losses such as reduction of weight, milk
production, meat quality, reproductions performance, even death. This study
was carried out to determine the prevalence of beef cattle and also to determine
the influence of age, breed, and sex toward fasiolosis in Handini Mukti farm
group in Seyegan village. A total of 82 faecal samples were taken from rectal or
after defecation. The numbers of Fasciola sp. eggs were calculated by Parfitt and
Banks method. The prevalence (%) was counted and the association level was
analyzed using Chi-square (2) and Odds Ratio (OR). Results of this study
showed that the total prevalence of fasiolosis was 24,72%. On the other hand,
cattles age (p > 0,05), breed (p > 0,05), and sex (p > 0,05) did not have any
significant influence.
