Summary: | Streptococcus suis is the one of the pathogen bacteria which cause pigs

in pig and even human such aseptisemia, meningitis, arthritis, brunchopneumonia,
pericarditis, poliserositis. These bacteria are normally found in the upper
respiratory tract, digestive tract and genital organs. Sensitivity test of
Streptococcus suis against variousare needed due to increased cases of infection in
both pigs and human. Nineteen isolates of Streptococcus suis was isolated from
tonsil swab of pigs in Papua. Sensitivity test against antibiotics used diffusion
method with disc paper which contained various antibiotics, then be interpreted
with Kirby Bauer standart table. The results showed that Streptococcus suis were
resistant toerythromysin (42,11%), methicillin 47,37%), intermediate to ampicillin
(57,89%). Intermediate or resistantto oxacillin (89,47%) and sensitive to
docycycline (57,89%) and gentamicin (42,11%).
