description This research aims to reveal how the political constellations at Ternate in the revolution era (1945-1950), as well as its purposed to both political choice options for Ternate that are choosing of unitary with RISs government or federal leaning to Dutchs Colonial government. It, which is started from source tracking till final writing, used history method to answer the researchs main problems. The sources used consist of primary source, archives, and secondary sources consisted of articles, books, magazines, journals, etc. It obtained from the institutions of Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia (ANRI), Perpustakaan Nasional, the libraries from Maluku and Yogyakarta areas. This research concludes that inevitably locals political interest struggles has spawned struggles idealism and symbolization. Political interest fighting is marked by the presence of local political elites who are radical for unitary and always uses merah-putih symbols as struggle tools in one side. In the other side Sultan who are using traditional rights involves himself in federal struggle tools in Negara Indonesia Timur (NIT). The fighting between local political elites (unitary) and sultanate (federal) occurs throughout revolution era. However, after Military Aggression II duration, sultanates federal expectation is being absurd because the Dutch ultimately acknowledges Indonesia sovereignty over Konferensi Meja Bundar (KMB). Dutchs sovereignty acknowledgment for Indonesia became decisive blow against federalist in Ternate. Ternate is gradually dragged to integration wave to Indonesia and then enters a new chapter in the life and nation state order.
