description The development of biofuels has been the attention of researchers in recent years, in line with the decline of conventional fuels supply and the increasing of environmental awareness. Nyamplung oil is one of the raw materials for biofuels which is renewable, sustainable and eco friendly. In this research, nyamplung oil converted into biofuel through pyrolysis process. The objective of this research is to make biofuel that has hydrocarbon fraction close to gasoline from nyamplung oil and catalyzed by porous carbon. Pyrolysis of nyamplung oil conducted in batch with fixed bed reactor made of quartz. Pyrolysis process is done in thermal (non-catalytic) and catalytic. Before the pyrolysis process started, nitrogen gas flowed into the system for 1 hour. Once the desired temperature is reached, nyamplung oil flowed through a stack of porous carbon catalyst. Pyrolysis performed in temperature 350, 400, 450 and 500oC. Porous carbon that used in this research is made of polymers resorcinol phenol formaldehyde ethylene glycol (RPFEG) which has the dominant structure of mesoporous and microporous. Volume of the liquid yield is recorded every 30 minutes and the liquid yield for each temperature is analyzed with GCMS for the identification of its constituent components. The research results showed that pyrolysis of nyamplung oil with porous carbon catalyst can produce a liquid product with hydrocarbon fraction equivalent to gasoline. The dominant mesoporous carbon produces gasoline with higher yield than the one that produced with the dominant microporous carbon and without catalyst. The highest gasoline yield of nyamplung oil pyrolysis with the dominant mesoporous carbon was 84,14%, it was obtained at temperature 350oC.
