Summary: | Background: Adolescent reproductive health program is an effort to help teens to
have the knowledge, awareness, attitudes and behavior of healthy and be
responsible reproductive life. Interest in the Internet as a tool of information and
communication related to health has grown tremendously the last few years, as the
Internet has unique character, namely the mass media as well as an interpersonal
communication medium so that it can be useful, especially in situations where
alternative sources of sexual information very limited.
Objective: To identify the extent of internet media is currently being developed as
a means of promotion of reproductive health in adolescents.
Research methods: Qualitative study using an exploratory case study design. The
research was conducted on the website of the organization or non-governmental
organizations working in the field of reproductive health in Yogyakarta in 2013.
Results: PKBI DIY, Rifka Annisa and PIKM Mahkota Puri web design is still not
perfect, updating web content from third still less, the search and communication
facilities is still incomplete, user privacy is also less secure. PKBI DIY, Rifka
Annisa and PIK-M Mahkota Puri is an organization that can be trusted and
committed in terms of reproductive health, but the management is still not
engaging them truly expert or the victims that certainly competent as a
contributor. Web manager workload is quite high, with a performance based
incentives except PIKM Mahkota Puri where the activity is voluntary with no
incentives. The number of visitors is still low, the service provided in the form of
information and counseling, but the quality of the interaction and the response is
still low. PKBI DIY and Rifka Annisa are already using the services of a
professional web designer while PIKM Mahkota Puri yet.
Conclusion: Website can be used as a media promotion of reproductive health,
but the communication is still one-way
