description The increase of the population so fast and increasing human activities are not followed by adequate clean water production. Short term solutions for getting much done the research to produce clean water through a simple process that is using the ceramic filter. One issue that often arises is a small discharge approximately 3 L/h, so do research for improving the performance of ceramic filter. Research conducted using the rotating filter with ceramic filter which has a length of 50 cm, inner diameter 28 mm, outer diameter of 62 mm. ceramic filter constituent Composition varied the size of rice husk mesh 30 , mesh 50, and mesh 80. Each filter is operated on the 6th variation of the speed rotation, namely, 0 rpm (silent), 15 rpm, 30 rpm, 45 rpm, 60 rpm and 75 rpm. Feeds used for this research is the Kali Code river water by maintaining the bait of debit 0.8 gpm. From research conducted revealed that the value of the optimal flux obtained on ceramic filter with size of rice husks mesh 30 and operated on 0 rpm (silent) . This Filter has a flux 36,82 L/m2. minutes on first and 15.06 minutes L/m2 min in the 90th minute. High flux values can also be caused due to the smaller number of mesh size and rice husk contained in ceramic filters will be even greater then the pores formed on the ceramic filter will also be getting bigger. However a high flux value is also influenced by the speed of rotation. The value of a high flux is caused due to turbulent flow occurs accompanied Taylor Vortex, which can reduce the rate of fouling on the surface of the membrane. Higher spin speeds can also inhibit the rate of formation of fouling so the decline in the value of the flux is slower.
