Resumo:The selection of modes of transportation can not be separated from various considerations aspect (criteria) related to smooth travel modes of transportation from place of origin to place destination (in this research takes the case of trips from Jakarta to Yogyakarta). The consideration of aspect (criteria) is rate, travel time, safety, comfort, security, and frequency. Moreover the selection of modes of transportation from Jakarta to Yogyakarta offers a variety of alternatives, the alternatives of various types among others airplanes, trains, buses, travel, or by using a personal vehicle. Of the various types of alternative modes, this research will discuss about the criteria/aspect and the use of modes of transportation which is a priority of the respondents viewed by each of the above criteria have been described previously. This research used with Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. AHP is one of method that can be used in the prioritization of criteria and alternative modes which available, with involve a number of preference and respondents in a particular rating scale, which is arranged in a questionnaire so the results of the evaluation of the AHP method can give an idea of how priority than any existing alternative modes of Jakarta to Yogyakarta in terms of a number of criteria/certain aspects. Based on analysis performed, research results show that criteria of safety is a top priority selected by respondents with a weight is equal to 0.351.
