description Native speakers of Ngaju Dayaknese nowadays have learned English, especially those who live in urban area. These languages have similarities and differences on Phonological system. These similarities and differences have produced sound changing processes when the native speakers of Ngaju Dayaknese pronounced sounds in English. This research was aimed to describe the similarities and differences on the Phonological system of Ngaju Dayaknese and English through contrastive analysis, so that it would be obviously known why there were many processes which happened on the pronunciation of English by the native speakers of Ngaju Dayaknese. The researcher used recording and taking notes technique to collect the data in the field. The results of the research were the similarities and differences of vowel, consonant, diphthong, triphthong, and cluster which were obtained from Ngaju Dayaknese and English, and also the sound changing processes that occurred in English pronunciation that were conducted by the native speakers of Ngaju Dayaknese. Ngaju Dayaknese had 4 (four) vocals, 18 (eighteen) consonants, 5 (five) diphthongs, and 3 (three) clusters which were formed through informalization process. English had 14 (fourteen) vocals, 24 (twenty four) consonants, 8 (eight) diphthongs, 5 (five) triphthongs, and 15 (fifteen) cluster patterns. The sound changing occurred in vowel, consonant, diphthong, triphthong, dan cluster. This research needs to be discussed further, especially on the contrast of suprasegmental element. Every speaker has uniqueness on the pronunciation even though they have required or learned a same language. Therefore, it is important to not see only the sound changing generally but also exclusively on each individual. These sounds changing may be regarded descriptively and prescriptively according to its significance.
