The study aimed to determine farmer response against the SIT application and factors affecting the response rate. The study was conducted during August � November 2013 in South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. One hundred of respondent farmers were taken at random in Districts of Batu Putih and Oenino. Interviews comprised aspects of farmer�s characteritics, attitude, farmer�s activity, risk, role of innovator agents, and role of social leader. The Z statistical test was used for testing hypothesis of low farmer�s response. Multiple linear regression and path analysis were applied to determine the significance effect of various factors against the rate of farmer�s response to the SIT application. Results proved that more than 50% of respondents showed low response. Farmer�s response to the SIT application was significantly affected by attitude (40%), role of social leader (33%), age (23%), and risk (22%). The more open of attitude, the younger of age, the bigger of role of social leader, and the smaller of risk, would be the more increasing of farmer�s response to adopt the SIT.
