Summary: | Income diversification is one of livelihood strategies with spreading on
more than one source of income. Income diversification in coastal communities
got influence by internal factors as the characteristics of the coastal areas, and by
external factors such as regional development policy.
This research takes two different locations. Those are Greges Sub District,
Surabaya City and Puger Wetan Village and Puger Kulon Village, Jember
Regency. Different location causing different vulnerability potential level for both
coastal areas. Greges Sub Distric is a waterfront city development area which
functioned as a strategic area to accommodate public service activities, trade and
services, industry and warehousing, and housing. Pugerwetan Village and
Pugerkulon Village are priority of agropolitan development areas as agricultural
wetlands. This research goals are a) to identify the variation of activities as an
income diversification of coastal communities
