description The study which titled �Metaphors of Love in Shakespeare�s Works� are intended to describe the conceptual sistem of love metaphors in Shakespeare�s Works and to describe the types of semantic field of love metaphors based on hierarchy of human perception of space according to Michael C. Haley which adopted by Wahab to observe ecological sistem. Besides, this study examines Shakespeare-related perspective about love reflected in metaphorical expressions in his works. A non-participant observation method by taking notes or known as documentation method is used in this study. All the data are taken from the English works of Shakespeare. The data are analyzed by seeing sentence context in which the words are considered to contain elements of metaphor. Besides, semantik features are also used in analyzing the meaning of metaphorical expression related love. Furthermore, the presentation of the analyzing data results uses formal and informal methods. The results show that conceptual system of love metaphor in Shakespeare�s works consisted of source domain, target domain and ground. There are 14 source domains used to explain �love�. All metaphorical expression of love represented the nine category of metaphor semantic field according to Michael C. Halley, they are: human, animate, living, object, terrestrial, substance, energetic, cosmos, and being. Meanwhile, the semantik field of whole metaphor of love data tabulation shows that the highest rank of percentage falls in human category that reaches up to 36.8%, followed by the object category as 24.6%. The category of being at 11.8%, followed by the category of animate is less than 10% which is 8.6%%. Categories of substance, living, terrestrial, as well as energy have balance percentage ranging from 3.2% to 8.6%. Finally, the smallest percentage goes to the category of cosmos just as much as 0.4%.
