Summary: | Incident of child sexual abuse is increasing. The impact
arising from these incidents provide a great influence for the
family. Each family has a different capacity in overcoming the
problems caused by the incidence of child sexual abuse. The
study explores the dynamics of family resilience process whose
children are victims of sexual abouse with two family units as
the subject of the collaborative exploration of risk factors and
protective family to achieve the goal of resilience in this study.
This research approach is qualitative with case study
method. Data collecting through observation, interviews, and
documentation such as the results of the psychological
examination, police Interrogation Files, photograph, academic
report card, kids crafts, and sketch the scene.
The results of the study revealed that the dynamics of
resilience in both families have similarities and differences. Sexual
abuse is a risky condition that will bring a range of impacts fo r
children and families. Family resilience awakened through an
adaptation process which is a combination of risk factors with
protective factors. The number of protective factors that play a role
in minimizing the risk factor that is going to bring the subject back
to the understanding of the meaning of the incidence of sexual
abuse (reframing). Ultimately, resilience manifested by family
conditions that can achieve positive results and related events
have experienced child sexual abuse.
