| Summary: | The aim of this research is to investigate factors that influence the Indonesian non-oil exports to Asia. Non-oil commodities export contributed widely to Indonesia's trade balance compared to oil and gas exports. However, the last two years appears the problem where the Indonesian non-oil export value decreased whereas the volume increased. The data used in this study include Indonesian non-oil exports to twenty countries in Asia, real GDP per capita, population, distance between capital city, as well as the exchange rate in the period 2008 to 2012. This study uses random effect model for estimation with a gravity model approach. The conclusion of this study is the value of Indonesian non-oil exports is significantly influenced by real GDP per capita, population, and distance. While the exchange rate does not significantly affect the Indonesian non-oil commodity exports.
