description Background: In infants development, there are many things affecting, including food intake. Infants aged > 6 months is included a period in which they have received complementary feeding (MP-ASI). One of the complementary feeding is finger food, food held by the infants themselves, which serves as the complementary to the intake and stimulation. Objective: To determine the relationship between energy intake, finger food and the development of infants aged 7-12 months in Srandakan District, Bantul. Methods: A cross-sectional study design, conducted in January-March 2014 in Srandakan District, Bantul. The sampling was done by systematic sampling and quota sampling. The sample size was minimally 55 infants with inclusion criteria of the age 7-12 months and mothers reside in Srandakan District and the exclusion criteria of the premature infants, low birth weight infants, and congenital abnormalities were found. The data were analyzed by Spearman. Results: The poor energy intake is found in 30 infants (49.2%), the frequency of finger food feeding is mostly included in a very frequent category, i.e. in 43 infants (70.5%), and normal motor development in 50 infants (83.6%). There is a significant relationship (p = 0.013), but inadequate (-0.315) between the energy intake and the development. There is a significant correlation (p= 0.001), but inadequate (-0.412) in the finger food feeding towards the development. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the energy intake, finger food and motor development in infants aged 7-12 months in Srandakan, Bantul.
