| description | This research discusses the nine song lyrics featured in Sound Horizon�s
seventh story CD Märchen. Sound Horizon is a Japanese musical group known
for their fantasy story music style. The seventh story CD Märchen is chosen as the
research object, for this story CD was created based upon seven German�s fairy
tales (Grimm�s fairy tales) in which were retold in a tragedy approach associated
with the concept of seven deadly sins. The objectives of this research are to solicit
the meaning of song lyrics in the story CD Märchen and to determine the seven
deadly sins� concept in a relation to the story plot.
The method used in this research is a qualitative research in Riffaterre�s
perspective of semiotics approach. Riffaterre�s perspective of semiotics comprised
four analytical stages: the heuristic and hermeneutic reading, searching of matrix,
model, and variants, and finding the hypogram or the intertextual relation.
The results of this research are as follow: firstly, the meaning of song lyrics
in the story CD Märchen could be concluded as that everything happens for a
reason and every contradictory thing had to be in an equilibrium state. Secondly,
the story plot is about the nocturnal revenge tragedies caused by sins, in which are
the seven deadly sins, therefore explains the association of the seven deadly sins�
concept in the story. |
