| Summary: | VGA (Video Graphics Array ) is an analog display standar for computer first
introduced by IBM. VGA signal, which is required by VGA monitor, is generated by
a VGA controller. It is usually in the form of expansion card for Personal Computer
and supported by a high speed bus to communicate with the rest of the system.
The challenge in incorporating a VGA monitor into a microcontroller based
system as an output device is the lack of high speed bus on the microcontroller. To
alleviate that problem, a VGA controller specially designed for a microcontroller is
proposed in this project.
The VGA controller itself is implemented with ATMega 328 microcontroller .
ATMega 328 is selected because it has an architecture suitable for implementing the
VGA controller. |
