| Summary: | Hip hop is genre of music which comes from America. This genre was
spread out to the entire world down to Indonesia. Hip hop music in Indonesia has
been amended and adapted to the culture. In Yogyakarta, the lyric of hip hop uses
Javanese language and it is combined with gamelan music beat.Then this music
genre is known with Hip hop Jawa.
This research titled �Analysis of Language Style Within Javanese Hip Hop
Song�s Lyric�. This research discuss aboutthe utilization language style within
Javanese song�s lyrics by Jogja Hip hop Foundation or JHF as its abbreviation,
according to direct and indirect meaning. A number of song�s lyrics by JHF will
be analyzed with diction and language style theory (Gorys Keraf). Furthermore,
this research will explain about image and mandate/message that contained in JHF
song�s lyrics.
According to analysis result of JHF song�s lyric, found several retoric
language styles, they are alliteration, assonance, pleonasm, and hyperbola which
are used to form beautiful rhyme and to exaggerate social critic. In addition to
those style, there are also some figure of speech language style, they are simile,
metaphore, fable, personification, eponim, metonymy, antonomasia, sarcasm, and
inuendo. These language styles used for aesthetics aspect and to affirm in
presenting critic.
