Summary:Minority groups are generally defined as a group of people who are distinguished by nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, culture and skin color, as well as most of the group amounted to less than majority. In many cases, minorities are oppressed group who received discriminatory treatment in the sectors of politics, economy, social and culture of the majority group. Not the least of these minority groups who take the fight (war) for the discriminatory actions. However, slightly different from the Sámi nation. Sámi minority nation is spread over four countries, namely Norway, Finland, Sweden and Russia. Most populous nation of Sámi is in Norway. In the contemporary era, the nation Sámi in Norway is a minority group that has gained political rights, economic, social and cultural equivalent of the majority group. The success of the Sámi nation, not far from the role of the Sámi Parliament acts as the legislative body who representing the Sámi in Norway before the national parliament (Storting). As a minority group, has its own parliament is something that makes the Sámi nation into a unique minority group. Sámi nation's success can not be separated from the process of the establishment of Sámi Parliament in Norway as well as its role in the nation's fight for the rights of Sámi in Norway.
