Summary: | Background: Children with mental retardation are at risk
of having skin lesion resulting from direct consequences
of genetical disorder or the lack of awareness about
personal hygiene and environment. Despite the fact,
epidemiological data providing the prevalence of skin
lesion in children is very limited especially in Indonesia.
Because of that reason, theres a need of research about
the prevalence of skin lesion in children with mental
retardation.
Objective: To study the prevalence of skin lesion in
children with mental retardation especially in Sekolah
Dasar Luar Biasa (SDLB) Pembina Yogyakarta.
Methods: This research is a cross-sectional study. A total

(20,6%), xerosis cutis (9,5%), pityriasis versicolor
(7,9%), post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (7,9%), acne
vulgaris (6,3%), prurigo simplex (6,3%) and scar (3,2%).
