Hotel Sahid Raya Yogyakarta through the Human Resources Department as part of managing human resources to apply the method of learning by doing, promotion and rotation, and outing motivation and training in order to realize excellent service. This paper also discusses about the effect of the educational background in the hotel. Techniquesz of data analysis were used t analyze problem is qualitative descriptive method to describe of the management of human resources in effect in the Hotel Sahid Raya Yogyakarta and educational background of employees can affect performance of the hotel service. Discussion result can be known management equip an employee with competency test so realized employees certified and competent. he conclusion States that the educational background do not affect the quality of service provided by the employee but the quality of service is determined on how often employees hotel to practice and learn to be able to provide services Keyword: Yogyakarta, Hotel Sahid Raya Yogyakarta, human resource management, educational background
