Summary:The information on tide stations possesses an essential role in the development and management of marine resources. As many as 113 tide stations owned by the Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG) are distributed across Indonesia, thus the presence of geographic information system (GIS) capable of facilitating users to obtain necessary information is required. The activities implemented are aimed to create a web-based information system application which is focused on the spatial data and attribute data regarding the information system of tide stations� distribution interactively. The information system of the tide stations� distribution provides information on the description of tide stations locations, tide stations locations, the description of the tools used in tide stations, general identity of tide stations� operators, and the description of tidal Bench Mark (BM) in the locations of tide stations which is made by using various Open Source software. The initial stage of the data processing was started from the input of PostgreSQL data, the data storage on GeoServer, and the making of interactive map display by using scripts arrangement utilizing OpenLayers and GeoExt as the library of JavaScript. It was subsequently ended by the making of web design by using KompoZer. The web-based information system of tide stations� distribution in Indonesia which is produced can be accessed by activating GeoServer and using various browsers. The information system is comprised of four main menus, i.e. main page menu, map menu, information menu on tide gauges, and gallery menu. On the map menu, the distribution of tide stations spots which are being overlapped with the basic map is presented and is equipped with various control maps. Therefore, the users can obtain the information on the distribution and the description of tide stations in Indonesia more easily. Keywords: Tide Stations, Web-Based Information System
