Summary: | Background: The low success rate of breastfeeding in Indonesia is caused by
some factors some of which are the support of family and medical officers, parity,
and the mothers psychological condition. Mothers with postpartum depression
will conduct an early cessation in breast feeding because they decrease their
faith and confidence in doing breast feeding and will result in the diminution of
breast milk production and leading to the unsuccessful breast feeding itself.
Research Objectives: To find out the influence of mothers post-partum
depression on the success of breastfeeding in the first two months after delivery
and to reveal their experience in doing breast feeding.

was accomplished by using chi-square test and content analysis for the
qualitative data.

doing breastfeeding in the first two months after delivery. The data analysis using
chi-square test shows that there is no significant relation between postpartum
depression and the success of breastfeeding in the first two months after delivery
(p=0,957), RR=1,026 (95% CI: 0,398-2,647). There is no significant relation
