The samples were 70 mothers after giving birth and the number of qualitative data samples was not determined. The data were taken by using a questionnaire and the data analysis was accomplished by using chi-square test and content analysis for the qualitative data. Results: There were 55.8 % of mothers with postpartum depression who failed in doing breastfeeding in the first two months after delivery. The data analysis using chi-square test shows that there is no significant relation between postpartum depression and the success of breastfeeding in the first two months after delivery (p=0,957), RR=1,026 (95% CI: 0,398-2,647).
