Summary: | The study aims at revealing communitys acceptances on permanent shelter
infrastructures. The investigated infrastructures comprise a mosque, workshops,
village public halls, a multipurpose building, a group stable, an integrated waste
disposal place, and an electrical distribution network. The selected research site is
Pagerjurang Permanent Shelter in Kepuharjo, Cangkringan, Sleman. It is chosen
purposively since the site is considered containing information-rich cases for study
in-depth
This study uses inductive-qualitative research method. The data collection
was carried out by field observations, in-depth interviews, and document analyses.
The main informants are people who know the development process of the
infrastructures and the main users of each infrastructure selected proportionally
from three shelter blocks.
The research findings show that there are dualism on the acceptance of
infrastructures in Pagerjurang Permanent Shelter. Some community members
make use of the infrastructures and some others do not. Good physical conditions
of the infrastructures, the infrastructures that is built in their own shelter block, and
the adequacy of the infrastructures are the reasons why some members of the
community willingly make use of the infrastructures. On the contrary, the other
ones deny use the infrastructures because the location of the infrastructures is
considered quite far from their block, they do not know the presence of some
infrastructures, the infrastructure ownership is obscure, and they are disappointed
in the site plan changes.
