improve agricultural productivity in the country. Irrigation has an important role in
the utilization of rice field it also can fulfill the water requirement for agriculture
according to amount, quality, and time required by crops. The importance irrigation
for agriculture makes it is necessary to evaluate irrigation system to improve their
performance.
The objectives of this study were assessing the performance of irrigation
systems based on the Regulation of the Ministry of Public Works number
32/PRT/M2007 and comparing the performances of two irrigation systems under
authorty of the central government and the district government.
The analysis of irrigation performance form showed that irrigation
performance index of Pengasih and Tegal system were 73.32% and 70.92%,
respectively. Statistically, it was concluded that both irrigation system performance
were not different. Factor of different between them was only on human resource
aspect. |
