Summary: | Natural gas purification process cleans natural gas from the acid gas
contained. Here in as a part of natural gas purification process unit is an amine
filter. In the amine filter, lean amine is filtered from impurities and then used to
absorb acid gases in the absorber column. The process equipments contained in
amine filter are a lean amine cooler, an amine particulate pre-filter, an amine
charcoal filter, and an amine particulate after-filter.
The aim of this research is to design an amine filter automation system in
natural gas purification process. The first step of design process is analyzing the
Process Flow Diagram (PFD), then designing the Piping & Instrumentation
Diagram (P&ID), specifying sensors and actuators, designing a functional
diagram, designing loop-sheet diagrams, designing a system architecture,
designing the display of Human Machine Interface ( HMI ), and finally a loop
testing function.
The results are a P&ID design document based on standard document from
ISA ISA-5.1-2009, a specification of sensors & actuators which based on standard
document form ISA S20, a functional diagram which based on standard document
from ISA S5.1, a loop-sheet diagram, a system architecture, a HMI document, and
simulation programs (loop test function).
