Summary: | Language is a system of meaningful signs. Language is used as a medium
in the literature, including poetry, so it is necessary to analyze the meaning of
signs and symbols in the poetry so that its meaning can be revealed. The analysis
of poetry \"La<ibu an-Nardi\" from the anthology La <Uri<du li ha<z|i< al-Qas}i<dati an
Tantahiya of work of Mah}mu<d Darwi<sy utilizes the semiotic theory that discusses
about the signs and utilize two methods of the four of Riffaterres methods of
poetry interpretation, namely undirected expressions which are discussed together
with the reading of the hermeneutic and semiotic readings that consist of heuristic
and hermeneutic readings. The results show that the problem of the existence of
the Palestinians become the main idea in this poetry which is shown by the notion
of the origin of heredity, specific characteristics of the Palestinian people and its
territory, the role of the Palestinian people, and the various possibilities that can
happen to the Palestinian people. This shows that the attempt to demonstrate the
existence of the Palestinians to the Israeli occupation will never stop though there
always will be much pressures
