description This graduated paper is the translation of Japanese children story entitled Tsubu Musuko. This story was chosen because the title and the story are interesting, and also the story contains a good moral message. Besides, this translation has never been tranlated before. When translating this story, the writer used a communicative translation method. It was used because the method is focussing on communication principle, so the meaning of the text could be easily understood by the readers. This story tells about Tsubu Tarou, a boy with a snail body. He was given by god to a couple of grandparents who had not had any child. Eventhough he was in snail body, he succeeded at marrying one of land lords daughters with his clever idea. The moral message of the story is not to easily give up in any circumstances. Even if we have several weaknesses, do not let them limit us for pursuing what we want.
